CARPENTER, Phyllis Ann, (Blakely), went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on March 7, 2007. She was born in Oklahoma City in 1934. She married the love of her life in 1955, and they moved to California to raise their family. After completing a successful Real Estate career she went back to school to fulfill a life long dream of becoming a registered nurse. She worked several years at Antelope Valley Hospital, French Hospital in California and retired from Lane Frost Hospital in Hugo, Oklahoma in 2005. She was an incredible inspiration to her 3 daughters and to all who knew her as she had such a positive outlook on life. One example of this was her courageous 10 year battle with ovarian cancer, one that many people never even knew she was going through. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Richard; her daughter Michelle, infant daughter Karen, and brothers Carl and Bill. She is survived by daughters Wyayn (Gefrey) Rasmussen, of Plymouth, Minn., Mary Dawn (Sheldon) Hatch of Olivia, Minn., grandchildren, Rickey, Malia, Rylan, Shaina, Torrie, Carly, Brittney, Sheridan, Alex, Kalle Jo, and Elizabeth; sister Mary (Ron) Hall of Plymouth, Minn., sister-in-law, Peggy (Herb) Canady, of Caycucos, Calif., and her special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the First Christian Church in Hugo, Okla., with a private interment proceeding the service. Memorials preferred to Choctaw County Library, 703 E. Jackson St., Hugo, OK 74743.
