Rachel Stansbury Christiansen, 76, of the 200 block of E. Bay View Blvd., a registered nurse, died Aug. 16, 1990, in a hosptital.

Mrs. Christiansen, a native of Spencer, N.C., had been supervisor of nurses at Lake Taylor Hospital. She was the widow of Christie Thomas Christiansen. She was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church and was a past worthy matron of Elizabeth Chapter 45, Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include three daughters, Rachael C. Cartwright of Virginia Beach, Alma C. O'Shields of Buffalo, S.C., and Ellen C. Taylor of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Christie A. Christiansen and Thomas E. Christiansen, both of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. John Teter. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dodge Powell Scholarship Fund, c/o Elizabeth Chapter 45, Order of Eastern Star, or to a favorite charity.
