John first born of Isaac and Gracie Butler Myers, came with his parents and three brothers to the Mississippi Territory, Natchez District sometime bewteen 1815 and 1816. He lived there until he was grown, marrying 1823 in Lawrence County to Elizabeth Fortenberry daughter of Jacob and Celia Berry Fortenberry. No trace of his descendant was found at the time of the settling of his father's estate. Notices were published in the Brandon Republican for four weeks, running from September 13 to October 1866, citing all persons interested in the estate of Isaac Myers to appear at the court house in Brandon, no word was received from any member of John's family. No mention was made of John in the will.
