Helen "Penny" Pennington Pitcock, 77, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday September 7, 2009 at a local nursing home.

Mrs. Pitcock was born December 20, 1931, in Inkerman, WV the daughter of George A. and Ada Conard Pennington. She was a graduate of Stonewall High School in 1950.

She married the late William B. Pitcock on August 13, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD.

She was a sales clerk for S.S. Kresge's and then worked in customer service at Rubbermaid.

She was a member of the Little Mountain United Methodist Church, life time member of Weight Watchers and a charter member of Millwood Station Rescue Squad Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Pamela P. Nagley, Sandra P. Hott and Robin P. Spence all of Winchester; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Joyce Plaugher of Mt. Jackson, VA, Joan Karen Ritenour of Woodstock, VA; a brother, Mark Andrew Pennington of Las Cruces, NM.

Her sister Patricia Hepner and brother Roger A. Pennington preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Kathleen A. Work officiating. Burial will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be JT Spence, Mike Newlin, Jimmy McFarland, Ricky Newlin, Bill Newlin and Dale Borror.
