William DeMoss Shields was born in November 1877 to John J. Shields and Julia DeBard Taylor Shields. He was initially born in Tennessee and moved to Dallas, TX with his family. He is the grandson of Abraham Demoss Taylor & Elizabeth McCray; great-grandson of Henry Taylor & Delilah Demoss. The name "Demoss" was originally Dumas, he is a direct descendant of Count Louis Dumas of the Netherlands.

William Demoss Shields went on to marry Frankie Pauline Shields and had two boys, William Monroe Shields (my grandfather) and Frank Shields.

Shields, Dallas; Frank Shields, Denver, CO; sister Mrs. Verna Gray, California; Mrs. Dan Barben, Garland; Don and Randy Shields. Dallas Chapel Services Tuesday 2 p.m., bearers: Earl O'Donnell, Frank Morris, Frank Gentry, Winston Rumsey, Alva France, Pete Simmons. Interment Oakland Cemetery.


Cert of Death #43726 - William D Shields. He had been a contractor. He passed away from a myocardial infarction (heart attack) and cerebral thrombosis.
