Parents: the late Ector E. and Lillian Frances Brookshire Shadix, and the son-in-law of the late John H. and Mae Clyde Lovett Goodbread. A member of McRae First Baptist Church, Mr. Shadix was a volunteer at McRae Manor Nursing Home, participated in the Brewton-Parker Community Chorus, and was an active member of the Midway Prayer Breakfast where he was Music Director. A U.S. Army veteran, he retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years of service. Mr. Shadix is also preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Shadix Carson and brother-in-law, Edward L. Goodbread. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ann Goodbread Shadix of Alamo; sons, Ronald Charles (Cathy) Shadix of Aurora, IL and David Lee Shadix of Stone Mountain; granddaughter, Adrianna; step-mother, Katheryn Shadix of Conyers; step-sister, Diane Tatt of Conyers; step-brother, Michael Godfrey of Conyers; maternal aunt, Edith McNeeley of Austell; brother-in-law, Clyde L. (Jutta) Goodbread of Fernandina Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Joyce G. Bowman of Lees Summitt, MO, Jane G. (Robert) Keeling and Lilo Goodbread, both of Yulee, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
