COLLINS, David Jackson, 89, of Ivanhoe, died Sunday, August 17, 1997 in the Wythe Co. Community Hospital. He was born in Wythe Co., the son of the late Davey Crockett Collins and Laura Littreal Collins. He was retired from The National Carbide Company and was a member of the Iva Lodge #173, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife, Louise Taylor Collins of Ivanhoe; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Reggie Blair of Ivanhoe; two sons and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Anita Collins, Leon Collins all of Ivanhoe; sister, Virgie Wills of Florida; special friend, Sondra Doss; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairview United Methodist Church in Ivanhoe with the Rev. Taz Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Iva Lodge #173 100F conducting graveside rites. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Reese Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday or at the residence of his son, J.D. Collins at any time. Arrangements by Reese Funeral Home, Austinville.
