Sam Alexander
Funeral services for Sam E. Alexander, 74, 410 11th Ave., SE who died Thursday in a local hospital will be 2 p.m. today at 5th Ave. Baptist Church, the Rev. Wilber Smallwood and the Rev. W. W. Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Guntharp directing.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Rosie Alexander, Decatur; two sons, Willard R. Alexander, Decatur and Bill Alexander, New Orleans, La.; five daughters, Mrs. Lorene Stewart and Mrs. Zelma Dial, both of Decatur; Mrs. Frank Verner of Indiana; Mrs. Fannie Bush and Mrs. Iris Morgan, both of Birmingham; two brothers, Monroe Alexander and James Alexander, both of Decatur; a sister, Mrs. Flora Castell of Decatur; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to service.
