The News and Courier, Saturday, July 4, 1987:

Sarah Goings Johnston of 591 College Park Road, Ladson, widow of Roscoe Arnold Johnson, died Thursday in a local hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnston was born May 15, 1909, in Georgetown, a daughter of Grover Goings and Callie Goings. She was a protestant.

Surviving are two daughters, Lucille Drayton Catrair of Ladson and Elise Layne of North Charleston; a brother, Olin Goings of Georgetown; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
