[Note: Although this man was called Dr. Benjamin Franklin Walker, no evidence was found that he had an M.D. degree or that he served the Confederacy in a medical capacity. This is not the Benjamin Franklin Walker who was born in Union Co., SC, in 1832 and died in Union Co., SC, in 1920.]

The following was added by Judy Wilson, the creator of this memorial:

. F Walker built a home on his Father's farm, located in what is now Piedmont Park. That home is still standing and is part of the Piedmont Driving club. The millstone from his father's gris mill was incorporated into his house, and is visible today. When he sold his land to the club, he built another house directly across the street that is now Piedmont Avenue. He was a charter member of Merit's Ave Methodist church, which moved to Peachtree Street in 1902 and became St. Mark Methodist Church.
