Mary (Eckenrode) Stevens is the seventh child of Peter and Mary (Eck) Eckenrode, She was born July 4, 1810 in Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County (later Liberty Township, Columbia, now Montour County), PA; baptized on September 19, 1810 in Sunbury, Northumberland County by a missionary priest from Old Saint Mary's, Lancaster, Lancaster County, PA. Sponsors: her uncle, John Eckenroth and Catharine ?Pi?. On the same day, September 19, 1810, her second cousin, David Eckenroth was also baptized in the Sunbury, Sponsors: David Burgard (Burkhardt) and Catharine Eckenroth (probably Mary's aunt, wife of her father's brother John).
