Abigail Gould was born on the 14th of February 1760 in Windham, Windham County, Connecticut, the oldest of Abigail Kingsbury and John Gould's four children. Her brother, John, was born in 1762. Her brother, Jonathan, born on the 28th of April 1763, married first Patience Dyer, born around 1775 in Connecticut, and then Rachael. Her sister, Sarah (Sally), born on 8 July 1765, married Capt. Paul B. Davison. Their father died three months after Sally was born, on the 28th of October 1765, and in 1770 their mother married John Abbot.

Abigail, who was known as "Nabby," married Jedidiah Watkins on the 3rd of July 1782 in the home of her mother. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Elisha Hutchinson. The couple lived in Ashford where Jedidiah took charge of a grist mill. On the 26th of January 1783, Abigail gave birth to Adolphus. In 1785, John was born, and on the 24th of January, 1787, their daughter, Cassinai, was born. These two children may have died in infancy as there are no records on them other than their birth. On the 6th of April 1789, Artemissia, was born, followed on the 29th of May 1791 by Grant, and the 30th of July 1793 by Nabby who was named for her mother. In 1798, Cyrus, was born. Her last child, Nathan, was born in 1800. The family lived in the neighboring town of Westford for six years prior to 1800 when they all joined Abigail's mother, who was now divorced from her stepfather, along with her brother and sister, Jonathan and Sally and their families who had settled down in the wilderness of Lima, New York.

Adolphus
, born in 1783, married Phoebe W. Benton, born in 1796 in Connecticut, the daughter of David Benton and Nancy Pitts. No children were born to them. Adolphus died on 30 Sept 1876 in Lima, Livingston county, New York.

John, born in 1785.

Cassinai, born in 1787.

Artemisse (Arte)
, born in 1789, married Elisha Frost, born on 5 May 1788 in Nassau, Rensselear county, New York, the son of Enos Frost and Lucretia Millard. Artemissia and Elisha were the parents of five children born in Lima, New York: William J., born in 1808; Artemesia, born in 1810; Elisha Sprague, born in 1812; Lucretia N., born in 1824; and Robert H., born in 1828. Artemesia died on 26 Oct 1820 in Lima, Livingston county, New York.

Grant, born in 1791, married Amanda Curtis, born in 1801 in New York, daughter of Luther Curtis and Lois Miner. Grant and Amanda were the parents of two daughters born in New York: Emily Jane, born on 22 September 1823 and Clementine (Clemma) born 21 March 1825. Grant and his family moved to Michigan in the 1830s when the Michigan Territory was opened up. Grant died on 21 June 1854 in Grand Blanc, Genessee county, Michigan.

Nabby, born in 1793, married Joel Roberts, born on 16 Jan 1798 in Augusta, Oneida, New York, son of Seth Roberts and Betsy Winch. Nabby and Joel were the parents of James Joel, born on 5 September 1820 in Pike, Wyoming county, New York. Nabby died in Michigan.

Annah, born on 13 September 1796, married Frederick Fanning Blount, son of Walter Blount and Deborah Herrick, in 1831,

Cyrus, born in 1798, married Hulda Davis, who was born in 1801. Cyrus and Hulda were the parents of seven children:

Nathan, born in 1800, married Fanny Pierce, born on 29 June 1805 in Alstead, Cheshire, New Hampshire, the daughter of Lucy (Gale) and Caleb Pierce. Nathan and Fanny were the parents of five children born in New York: George, born in 1831; Fanny S., born in 1833; and Lucy E., born in 1836; Martha, born in 1840; and Henry P. born in 1842. After the birth of the last child in 1842, the family moved to Michigan. Nathan died on 18 April 1879 in Bay City, Bay county, Michigan.

Abigail was widowed in 1832 when Jedidiah, her husband of forty years, died on the 5th of October at the age of 93. Although Jedidiah had served in both the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War, Abigail was unable to present sufficient evidence to obtain a widow's pension. In the 1850 census, she is living in Lima with her son Cyrus and his family, next door to her eldest son, Adolph. She died on the 16th of May 1852 and is buried with her husband in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Lima, New York.
