Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, with Pastor Terry Kenitz of Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, Neb., officiating. Burial will be in Ponca City Cemetery, Ponca. Visitation, with the family present, will be 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Helen was born to Bill and Mary (Burns) [sic - Bourne] Beller in rural Ponca on Oct. 24, 1906. She married James A. Bauman in 1925. The couple had two sons and three daughters. James died on Jan. 9, 1945.
Two years later, she married Huey White, who died four years later. She began working for Elms Health Care Center in 1952, and continued until she retired at the age of 70. Helen lived at Pioneer Square Apartments in Ponca for 20 years before moving to Elms Health Care Center.
Survivors include a son, James and his wife, Nancy Bauman of Redding, Calif.; three sons-in-law, John Schultz of Cypress, Calif., Joe McArdle of Ponca, and Jim Wright of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Bauman and Huey White; a son, Larry Bauman; and three daughters, Mary Lou Schultz, Carol McArdle and Sandra Wright.
