Robert Henry TenCate was born to Henry Carl and Tilda (Torgrimson)Seado on January 1, 1924 in Bemidji, Minnesota. (Birth name, Carl Henry Seado)Due to his parent's deaths, he was adopted at the age of six to John and Martha(Tinklenberg) TenCate. He grew up on the family farm near Edgerton, Minnesota, with his adopted sister Betty Jane.
Robert served our country as Corporal in the US Army at the end of World War 2 in Korea.
Robert married Florence Thomas on October 18, 1947. They lived in and around Edgerton until 1962, when they moved to Woodstock, Minnesota. And he lived there until his death. To this union they had seven children; Robert Dean, Leatha Rae, Rhonda Kay, Aurora Ann, Jana Lee, Randall Gene, and Renata Jan.
Robert was a carpenter by trade. He loved to hunt pheasants with his beloved Wiemaraner, Pete. Enjoyed fishing, and watching the Minnesota Twins.
In the Summer of 1964 Robert noticed a lump on his upper right arm. After seeing several doctors, he was diagnosed of having a rare form of cancer. Despite amputation of his right arm and shoulder, plus radiation treatments, Robert succumbed to the cancer on December 23, 1964 at the age of 40 years, 11 months, and 7 days.
