Emily Ord, Resident of City for 40 Years
Emily Howell Ord, 89, a Washington resident for more than 40 years died Wednesday at her home after a heart attack.
Her husband, Army Colonel James B. Ord, died in the Phillippines in 1938.
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mrs. Ord accompanied her husband to posts in Europe and the Far East. She moved to Washington after his death.
Survivors include a son, retired Marine Corps Colonel James B. Jr., of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts; a daughter, Letitia Bonbright, of Washington; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
