James Argend, 70, 207 8th Avenue, NW, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in Moulton following an illness of two weeks.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. A. B. Van Arsdale officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Guntharp-Brown Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Floy Josephine Argend; a daughter, Mrs. H. P. Case, Athens; a brother, Lewis Argend, Decatur; one granddaughter, three nieces and one nephew.

Pallbearers will be Leldon Crow, Eudon Sandy, Leslie Black, I. E. Self, Claude McRae, Bill Brown and M. A. Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School class.

The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services.

Mr. Argend was a native of Athens, Greece and had been in the cafe and grocery business in Decatur since 1938.
