Chambers, William Thomas-73, Rt. 1, Oneida, passed away Thursday morning, October 22, 1981 at the Scott County Hospital. He was the son of the late Feeling Chambers and the late Rachel Marcum Chambers and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Cindy Chambers and Mary Abbott; three brothers, Elvin, Levi, and Lincoln Chambers. A member of the New Salem Baptist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jonah Honeycutt (Vina) of Rt. 1, Oneida and Nancy Abbott of Danville, Ky. Several nieces, nephews and many other relatives also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24 from the New Salem Baptist Church in the Smith Creek Community with the Rev. John Stanley and the Rev. Obis Byrd officiating. Burial followed in the Jim Lloyd Cemetery. The Mt. Zion Baptist Church Quartet sang. Pallbearers were Paul Chambers, Junior Ellis, Marvin Sexton, Lindsay Sexton, Daniel Smithers and Gleason Smithers.
