His parents were Joel and Mary "Lulu" (Tally) Williams.
He graduated from Adams High School in 1945. and lived in Adams most of his life.
Merlin served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII serving from July 28, 1945 to Jan. 8, 1947. Stationed in Korea.
He married Feb. 2, 1946 in Marysville, KS. to Mary Ann Fischer.
He bought his fathers trucking business in Adams, Ne. and owned and operated Williams Transfer from 1952-1992. He also drove a school bus, worked at Cliff Notes in Lincoln from 1985-1992. a Volunteer fireman.
Survivers include 3 daughters, Melene Davidson and husband Vern. Lori Williams, and Janet Buss, all of Adams, Ne. 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. and sisters in law. Agatha Williams of Adams, Mildred Williams of Hickman, Ne. and Alma Dettmer of Auburn, NE.
preceding him in death were his parents, , wife who died Nov. 11, 2008. brothers Chester, Norval, Leo and Lawrence Williams. sisters Pearl Baker, Gladys Ridgley, and Maxine Allen; and aunt Lulu Tayler.
Funeral services were held Juyly 28, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Adams, NE.
Interment was in the Highland Cemetery, Adams, NE.
