Jacob Stirewalt was a son of Jacob Stirewalt (1877-1966) and his wife Mary Will Armour (c.1880-1970). His paternal grandparents were Edward T. Stirewalt and his wife Ella Virginia Summers of Cabarrus Co, NC; and, his maternal grandparents were James Edgar Armour and his wife Carrie Antoinette Miller, of Greensboro, Georgia.
Jake married Mary Elizabeth Goodman (1911-2005). She was a daughter of Mason Goodman and his wife Mary Bell Field. Jake and Mary Elizabeth had two children, Ann Stirewalt Huggins Dunn and Jacob Edward Stirewalt, and one granddaughter Amy Elizabeth Huggins.
