Gerhard A. Leiker, 73, Centennial Towers, Hays, died Wednesday, Nov. 20 at St. Anthony Hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1912 in Ellis County to Anton and Barbara (Unrein) Leiker.

He married Agnes Wolf on July 25, 1933 in Catharine; she died Sept. 27, 1981. He married Winona Harrison Oct. 8, 1983 in Hays.

He was a retired public school custodian. He was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and St. Joseph Council of Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Norman A. of Hutchinson; two daughters, Gladys M. Brungardt, Barbara J. Clarke, both of Hays; two brothers, Isadore of Victoria, Aegidius of Hays; five sisters, Eleanor Stecklein of Denver, Albertina Windholz of Wichita, Irene Boos of Ellis, Leona Abrams of California, Celestina Dolezal of Hays; 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday, Nov. 23 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Albert Dwyer officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Brock's North Hill Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
