daughter of Elbert and Lillie Coursey Tyre,was born Feb.5,1908 in Laclede County and died Oct.17,1989 in Hermitage Regional Care Center,at Hermitage,at the age of 81 years,eight months and 12 days. Sarah was the oldest daughter in a family of eight children. She lived most of her life in Laclede County,working for many years at the old Rice Stix Factory. In her retirement years,she lived in Phillipsburg,looking after her many flowers and plants. She placed her faith in God at an early age,attending churches near where she lived. She was preceded in death by her parents,three brothers,and two sisters. Sarah is survived by one son,A.M."Red"Tyre of Lebanon; one stepson Bobby D.Atchley,Oklahoma City; one foster son Stephen J.Atchley,Republic; a brother and sister,Tom Tyre and Core Looney,both of Lebanon; two sisters-in-law,Ruth Tyre of Slater and Lillian Tyre of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Greg and Terry Tyre of Lebanon and Miles Edward Tyre of Springfield; four foster grandchildren of Republic; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sarah was a good mother and sister and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
