Robert B. Bridges
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in Forest Grove Memorial Chapel for Robert B. Bridges, who died Sept. 27 at age 73.
Mr. Bridges was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Arcadia, Neb., and was raised in Durham, Gaston and Forest Grove. He graduated from Forest Grove Union High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines and Okinawa in World War II. After the war, he lived in Gaston until 1956, when he moved to Forest Grove. He was a farmer and logger, then a production crew member for Forest Fiber Products until 1961. He worked for Tektronix for 25 years until his retirement as wholesale manager in 1986. After his retirement, he raised walnuts and filberts. He married Nancy J. Lewton in 1952.
Survivors include his wife; son, Robert I. of Forest Grove; daughter, Jennifer Larsen of Clarksville, Tenn.; mother, Virginia N. of Forest Grove; brother, J. Leo of Gaston; and five grandchildren.
Interment will be in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.
