Evelyn was originally buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. She was transferred to Albert G. Horton Cemetery in Suffolk.

CHESAPEAKE - Evelyn Delores Horton, of the 1500 block of Orchard Grove Drive, passed away Sept. 8, 2001, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
She was born Charleston, S.C., and was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. She spent her life lovingly devoted to her husband and large family.
The daughter of the late John Sheridan and Margaret Kelly Mahon, Evelyn is survived by her husband, Albert G. Horton Jr.; her children, Sister Allyn Marie Horton, SSND, Albert Horton III, Richard Horton, Nancy Horton Canu and Keith Horton; three sisters; one brother; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Evelyn attended St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk for 43 years and recently attended St. Mark's Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Funeral arrangements are pending. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
