Mary Jane Neel was the daughter of John Neel and Rebecca Porter and was the 1st wife of (My gr-gr-great grandfather) Thomas P. Anderson. Mary and Thomas had four children, 3 sons, John, Presley and an unnamed son and one daughter, Louisa. Mary Jane died on Feb. 23, 1847, 3 days after giving birth to their 4th child, an Unnamed Son, who was born and died on Feb. 20, 1847.

Thomas was remarried 7 months later to Mary's 1st cousin, Sarah Ann (Moody) Wright, who was the widow of John Wright. Thomas P. Anderson and Sarah Ann Moody were the parents of a daughter, Margaret "Maggie" Jane Anderson (My gr-great-grandmother), who was born on Jan. 5, 1851 in Logan Co., Kentucky. The Anderson family immigrated to Johnson Co., Missouri.
