FAYETTEVILLE — Leonard R. Gabbard, 94, of Fayetteville, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at The Maples in Springdale.
He was born July 11, 1915, the son of Thomas Green and Clarissa Gabbard.
He was a retired carpenter for the University of Arkansas and a member of First Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Belle Gabbard who died November 23, 2003.
He is survived by two sons, Norman Gabbard and wife Barbara of Elkins, AR, Glenn Gabbard and wife Lois of Appleton, Wisconsin; one daughter, Carolyn Norman and husband B.J. of Fayetteville, AR; One Sister-in-Law, Mable Shumate of Durham, AR; 6 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday before the service at Moore's Chapel.
Officiating will be Reverend Steve Sheeley and Reverend Wayne Danner.
