When in March of 1887 their father died leaving his wife with 5 children, 2-13 year old girls, 2-11 year old girls and an 8 year old girl. In December 1887 the mother also died leaving the 5 kids orphans. Their older sister, age 17 got married and stepped in and took them because she is named in the pension card. "Maud Peters"
