Verda Davis Reynolds, our Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, and Friend died on Friday, January 12, 2007 in Taylorsville, UT.
Mom was blessed to live on her own until the end and then pass peacefully in her sleep. She was born on January 9, 1919 to Edward Alexander and Lorena Violetta Stevens Davis at their home in Parowan, UT, and she celebrated her 88th birthday a few days before her death. She was the mother of six children.

She is survived by her brother, Bob; four of her children, Joe (Nancy), Boyd (Michelle), Shirly Turner, and Shauna Bruun (Steven); 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Mom graduated from Parowan High School in 1936, with her prior schooling in Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, and Nevada, as her family traveled following her Dad's work.
She married John M. Reynolds (Jack) on December 10, 1937. They were later sealed on April 10, 1952 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mom worked most of her married life, but retired when Dad did.

She was a member of the Riverview Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many positions in the Church through the years. She also served as President of the Majestic Meadows Lioness Club. She and Dad traveled extensively, cruising to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska. They also traveled to Germany, France, Austria, and Switzerland. We took family vacations each summer and loved every minute of them. Mom could play cards like no one else. She taught her grandchildren to play Pinochle while tending them as young children. Mom could put a puzzle together while the rest of us were still trying to sort the pieces. She crocheted at least one afghan for every one of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mom was preceded in death by our Dad; her son, Lynn; her daughter, Ann; her grandson, Jordan; two sons-in-law, Jerry Turner and Darrell Leetham; her parents; six brothers, and other dear relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at the Deseret Mortuary at 36 East 700 South from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19th, at the Riverview Ward Chapel at 4845 West Woodhaven Drive (1400 West and 4800 South), Taylorsville, UT, with a viewing prior to the funeral at 11:45 a.m. She will be buried on Saturday, January 20th in the Circleville City Cemetery, Circleville, Utah.

We will love and miss you every day, Mom, but we know that you had a joyous reunion with Dad, Lynn, Ann, Jerry, Darrell, Jordan, your parents, your brothers, and many other loved ones and friends.
