WOODSIDE--In Republic county, Kansas, April 16th, 1888, Hugh Woodside, in the 63d year of his age.
Deceased was one among the earliest settlers of McDonough county. He came with his parents and settled in the region where Blandinsville now stands (then "Job's settlement"), in 1833, coming from Washington county, Virginia, where he was born in 1825. His father was John G. Woodside, well known to all the early settlers of the county. Deceased lived in McDonough and in [1851] was married to Catherine Wilson. He was the father of 13 children, ten of whom with his wife survive him. Soon after his marriage he moved just across the line of McDonough into Henderson county, where he resided until 1882, when he moved to Kansas. Deceased was a brother of William L. Woodside, well known of Blandinsville township.
