DEATH OF MRS ELIZA GATES--Mrs Eliza Gates passed away yesterday morning at 1 o'clock at St Elizabeth's Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment for some time. The immediate cause of her death was dropsy. She was 77 years old and had been a resident of Tippecanoe county for many years. One son, George Gates, survives. The deceased was a sister of Isaac and Jackson Cunningham and of Mrs Mary J Holmes and Mrs Martha Timmons. She was a woman of most excellent character and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. The remains were taken from the hospital to the parlors of the Lancaster undertaking establishment, from where the funeral will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The interment will be made in the Fink cemetery.
