Funeral services were held at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel Monday afternoon for Mrs. Effie Hendrix, 42, of East Prairie, Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.V. Smith of this city, who died in Farmington on May 16. The Rev. S.G. Shepard conducted the service and burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Mrs. Hendrix was born in Conran on April 18, 1912 and attended the Peach Orchard and Marston schools. On March 6, 1937, at Peach Orchard, she was married to Bud Hendrix, who survives.
In addition to her parents and husband, she leaves two brothers, John Smith of Highland, Calif. and Basil Smith of Marked Tree, Ark.; and two sisters, Mrs. Billie Murphy of Memphis and Betty Jo Smith of this city.
