Samuel Newton Humphreys was born December 3, 1914, in Angus, Texas, passed away August 20, 2002, at age 87 to join our grandma in Heaven. It is with our deepest sadness that we reluctantly had to let him leave after a lengthy illness. Grandpa came to Antelope Valley in 1937, with our beloved grandmother. Flora Fay (Lee) and began farming in Palmdale where they lived until 1965. When they moved to Lancaster, Grandpa gave up farming in the 40's to work on automobiles and spent most of his life with Starkson and the Rally Chevrolet until his retirement. It is so hard to put into words what a great man we have all lost. He was always there for his family, never putting his self first. He helped raise generations of children. He taught us to be hard workers and to be strong and honest which does not make it any easier to say goodbye for now, till we meet again in Heaven. Our grandfather lost out grandmother in 1995, he missed her everyday, so now they have rejoined and his spirit may now rest. His daughter Evelyn and Paul Regan, grandsons Sammy and Kim Moreau, Mark Peters, Lance Regan, Eric and Michelle Regan; grand-daughters; Shawna and Mike Mackay, Tina and Lance Delong, great-grandchildren; Sammy, Tyleen, Steven, Brandon, Amanda, Kelsey, Nick, Lance Jr., Russell, Naomi, Bree and Chase, one great-great-grandson Skyler and one unborn. Please join us in the celebration of his ife on August 27, 2002, 10 am at Mumaw Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster, CA.
