At Holland, Friday, November 3rd,
1911, Mr. Allan W Colby
passed out of this life. Mr. Colby
was the son of Colonel Jonathan
and Hannah Colby and was born In
the town of Holland, Oct. 16. 1824,
and so had passed his 87th birthday.
On August 8, 1847, he was united
in marriage to Harriet M. Going and
to them were born four children---
Charles E. of Rochester, Floyd of
Harbor Creek. Pa.. Mrs. Ida Hunt
and Allan F. of Holland, all of whom
survive to mourn their loss. With
the exception of about nine years
spent in Missouri and Illinois, Mr
Colby had lived the greater part of
his life in Holland where he was
very widely known and respected.
The funeral was held on Sunday
afternoon at the home of his
daughter and was largely attended by
the friends of the family. The burial
was in the local cemetery, Charles
H. Oliver officiating.
