Ona H. Macoubrie of Longmont died Friday, October 7, 2005 at Applewood Living Center. She was 98.

Ona was born October 12, 1906 to Martin Ernest and Nora (Parker) Harper in Carroll County, Missouri. She attended the local schools and grew to maturity in the Carroll County area. On December 7, 1931 she married Carl E. Macoubrie in Rhodes, Missouri. They made their home there until 1937, when they moved to Colorado making their home in the Hygiene area. Ona spent most of her life as a homemaker, even though she worked for a shot period of time at various jobs. Ona and her husband helped get the Hygiene United Methodist church reopened, where she was a very active member. Mrs. Macoubrie and her husband were active volunteers throughout the community. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and former member of the Izaak Walton Grange.

She enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, playing the piano and traveling to see her grandchildren.
Mrs Macoubrie is preceded in death by her husband; two brothers Leo "Jack" Harper, and M.E. Harper; five sisters; Margurite Goodnight, Mayme George, Nelle Rice, Jenny Ward, and Glaphria Oglesbee. She is survived by two sons: Gary Macoubrie and wife Wilma of Saratoga, WY, Gene Macoubrie and wife Ann of The Villages, Florida; one sister, Verlene Linton and husband Billy of Longmont; four grandchildren; Laurie Schumacher and husband Ed of Manlius, NY, Cheri Wilson and husband Bob of New Port Beach, CA, Mike Macoubrie and wife Amy of Novato, CA and Kevin Macoubrie of Rifle, CO; three stepgrandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held 2 to 7 pm Tuesday, October 11, with the family present from 5 to 7 pm at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel. Funeral services to be held 2 pm Wednesday, October 12 at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Burry Bessee of Hygiene United Methodist Church officiating. Interment to follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
