Acker Raymond, 83, of Kendallville, died Saturday in McCray Hospital in Kendallville. Born December 5, 1908 in Noble County, he was the son of Alva and Elsie (Hills) Acker. On July 25, 1936 in Albion he married Evelyn H. Wagner, who survives. A lifetime Kendallville resident, he retired in 1973 as a machine operator for Kraft Foods. Also surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Simmons of Kendallville; 2 sisters, Orpha Bates of Kendallville and Catherine Luke of Fort Wayne; 2 brothers, Robert and Roy of Auburn; 4 grandsons, Brian and Phillip Simmons of Auburn, Jeffrey Simmons of Muncie and Patrick Simmons of Butler; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral Tuesday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendallville. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. + 7-4-1992
