John Franklin (Deke) Godette, 95, of 113 Groveland St, Oberlin, Died in the Wiggin Nursing Home. Oberlin. yesterday after a brief illness. Born in Kipton Dec 12, 1876, he was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Godette, self-employed, was in the light hauling business until he was 92. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Rowland, Oberlin; two step-sons, Paul and Raymond Gordon, both of Oberlin, three step-daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Williams and Mrs. Isabell Cobb, both of Detroit, Mich, and Mrs. Benita Jones, New York City, six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Cowling Funeral Home, Oberlin, tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Mt Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Steen will officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery.
