Larry Peyton Arnold Sr., age 55, of Wytheville, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 in Wythe County Community Hospital.

Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his father, Peyton Kelly Arnold and two sisters, Jeanine Coleman and Janet Porter.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Harden, of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Frankie Porter of the Piney Section of Wythe County, and Jill Arnold of Fort Chiswell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry P. Arnold Jr., Rural Retreat, and Michael and Lisa Arnold, of the Piney Section of Wythe County; five stepchildren and spouses, Michelle and Tim Stroupe of Fort Chiswell, Teia and Randy Havens of Rural Retreat, Chrys Harden of Wytheville, Meia Nelson and Lee Harden, both of the home; his mother, Bessie Arnold, of the Piney Section of Wythe County; grandchildren, Doug and Chris Arnold, Josh, Kevin and Andrew Porter, Codey, Paige and Micah Arnold, Lexie Robinson, Deanna Stroupe, Chelsi and Emily Havens, and Josh Nelson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 13, at 8 p.m. at Barnett''s Funeral Chapel in Wytheville with Pastor Larry Brooks, the Rev. Bobby Lewis and the Rev. Don Crockett officiating. Interment was in the West End Cemetery. Barnett's Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of arrangements.
