He married Mary Ann Redenhouse (or Rittenhause) on January 8, 1869 in Clark Cnty IL. According to the 1900 Census, Mary gave birth to 13 children and only 4 were still living in 1900.
Twelve of their children were: William Franklin, Henry Edward, Daniel Boone, Charles Oscar, Maud Ellen, Lilley Delphen, Richard, David, Emma, Anna, Lara, and Grover. Eight of their children are buried with them in Baughman Cemetery and only 2 of those (Daniel and Lilley) lived past 3 months of age. Both Daniel and Lilley died in 1890.
