ISAAC COOK was born to Mary Maria (Fuller) and Daniel Cook Jr on June 10, 1841 in West South Hope, Zora Huron, Upper Canada 13.

Isaac Cook married Martha Elizabeth Holden on November 16, 1862 in Nephi, Juab, Utah.

To this blessed marriage where born the following children:

ISAAC COOK IS LAID TO REST IN VERNAL

FUNERAL OF WELL KNOWN PIONEER OF UTAH AND ASHLEY VALLEY HELD SUNDAY-----DEATH OCCURRED IN BLUEBELL----VETERAN OF BLACK HAWK INDIAN WAR.

Isaac Cook died Thursday, July 14 at the home of his son James in Bluebell, at 10 o'clock A.M., of diseases incident to old age. The body of the deceased was brought to Vernal for burial in the place he loved so well and to be beside his wife who preceded him in death eighteen months ago.

Isaac Cook was born in Quebec, Canada on June 10, 1841. When an infant the family migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, having accepted the Gospel. The family received the buffetings with the Saints and again migrated to Utah and the Salt Lake Valley with the second company of emigrants. Here the boy grew to manhood, inured to the hardships of pioneer life.He helped to build the Salt Lake Temple.

He moved to Idaho where he spent some years helping pioneer that section.

In 1884 he moved to Ashley Valley and located a homestead in Glines ward. His character was as sturdy as the hills which surrounds the beautiful valley he loved so well. He died as he lived a consistent Latter day Saint.

Early in his life he was married to Elizabeth Holden, to whom 14 children blessed the union. His wife came across the plains four years after he did.

The children who survive are: Mary Jensen, Sanford Arizona; Agnes Connell, Freeman,Arizona; LeVera Connell, Lorenzo, Idaho; Hettie Settre Gurr, Payson, Utah; Liddie Gurr, Vernal Utah; Catherine Jenkins, Vernal, Utah; Minerva Hullinger, Cedarview, Utah; Martha Bird, Bluebell, Utah; James Cook, Bluebell, Utah; Joshua Cook, Idaho Falls, Idaho; John Cook, Vernal Utah.

There were five children at the funeral
service.

The deceased when a young man fought in the Black Hawk Indian War, and often related the events of those stirring times.

He was ever a pioneer, having followed farming as an occupation. He helped construct canals and other pioneer work, especially the road to Price, Utah.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Second Ward chapel, Bishop George E. Wilkins presiding. Beautiful music was furnished by the Second Ward choir under the direction of Ashley Bartlett.

They sang "Earth with Her Ten Thousand Flowers", "The Lord is My Light", "Thy Will Be Done", and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me".

The speakers were J.M. Shaffer, Henry Williams, and President Ernest Maton. A.Theodore Johnson offered the opening prayer and Bishop Wilkins closed.

Internment was made in the Vernal cemetery. A large concourse of friends attended the body to its last resting place.
