His parents were Moses(b. 29 June 1775 son of Archibald and Rebeckah Brown) and Mary (Owen) Brown (b.11 November 1780 daughter of Jonathan and Eleanor Kortwright Owen). George Fosset Brown's Great-grandfather Duncan Brown is buried in Goodwill Cemetery. Montgomery, Orange Co., N.Y.] They migrated from Goshen/Wallkill, Ulster/Orange Co. N.Y. about 1799 to Cayuga Co., N.Y and then to Allegheny Co., PA where George Fosset Brown married ca. 1827 Julia Ann Parcel the daughter of Richard and Catherine (Wilson) Parcel. They migrated to Morgan Co., Ohio late 1850 and Julia Ann died in Centerville, Ohio 23 January 1851. Children. 1. Mary Brown 23 January 1828-21 May 1884. 2. Rachel Brown 3.Archibald C. Brown 4. Theadore Brown a casualty of Civil War buried Cypress Hill Cemetery, Long Island, N.Y. 5. Richard Brown. 6. William Brown and 7. Andrew Hiram Brown. George Fosset Brown m 2nd (John)Sarah (Chapman) Whitney on 24 February 1853 in Washington Co., OH. Sarah being the half sister of Johnny (Appleseed) Chapman. They migrated about 1857 to Clover Township, Henry County, Illinois and then purchased land in Page County, Iowa, where George F. Brown died. Sarah is buried in Beverly, Ohio. "Sarah Chapman, wife of George F. Brown died 7 November 1883 age 83. yrs." Original stone found down and buried in the dirt.
