LOCKHART, Feb. 17 - C. D. Broome, 72, of Lockhart Junction died at General hospital in Spartanburg Thursday morning at 3 o'clock. The funeral service will be conducted at Lockhart Baptist church at 1:30 Saturday February 18. Interment will follow at Mt. Joy church yard, Kelton. Mr. Broome was married twice, first to Miss Rebecca Garner. To this union there were born seven children: Mrs. Lula Adams of Birmingham, Ala.; Miss Dicey Broome, deceased; Mrs J. M. Allen; T. E. Broome, and S. D. Broome of Lockhart; C D Broome, Jr., Chesnee; and Gettys Broome of Furman University. Greenville.
Mrs. Rebecca Broome died tn 1913.
Mr. Broome married Mrs. Lucy Bailey in 1915. To this union there were born two children, Emmit Broome and Torrence. He is also survived by one brother, Will Broome of New Mexico, and one sister, Mrs. Kate Jones of Gastonia, N.C.
