Mrs. Zelma M. Hale, 71 of Parsons died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in Katy Memorial Hospital here.

She lived at 1817 Dirr and had been ill six weeks. She came to Parsons in 1970 to reside with a sister.

Mrs. Hale was born on November 30, 1905 in the Dennis area, a daughter of R.L. and Leila Todd Foster. Her late husband, Bert Hale, died about ten years ago. They were married in Cherryvale.

Mrs. Hale lived in Cherryvale and was employed at several restaurants there, then lived in Long Beach, California from 1965 until 1970., coming from there to Parsons.

She was a member of the first Baptist Church in Shawnee Mission.

Among the survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Bessie M. Freeman of the home, 1817 Dirr, Mrs. Florence Pruitt of Shawnee Mission and Mrs. Lora Heady of San Jose, California, and two brothers Louis L. Foster of Cherryvale and Lloyd L. Foster of Haysville. One brother and one sister are deceased.

Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Burris-Wall Funeral Home with he Rev. Victor L. Trower officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Cherryvale.

Family members will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
