HELEN L NAUGHTON FROSTBURG Helen L. Naughton, 80, formerly of East Mechanic Street, Frostburg, died June 24, 2002, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center, where she had been a patient for one week.

Born March 5, 1922, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Gory and Laura (Durst) McKenzie. Mrs. Naughton was also preceded in death by an aunt and uncle who raised her, Patrick and Gertrude McKenzie; and her husband, Raymond Naughton. Mrs. Naughton was the former owner and operator of Helens Beauty Salon, Frostburg. She was a member of Saint Michaels Catholic Church, Frostburg, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Midland Democrat Club, and Farrady Unit 24 American Legion Auxiliary, Frostburg.

Surviving are four cousins, with whom she was reared, Olive Johnson, Frostburg, Deloris McKenzie, Frostburg, Patricia Shockey and husband John, Meyersdale, Pa., and Lois McKenzie, Cambridge; one, 100 year-old aunt, Elna Broadwater, Canton, Ohio; and numerous other cousins. Her body was cremated and there will be no visitations. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saint Michaels Catholic Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Paul Byrnes as celebrant.

Graveside Inurnment of the cremains will follow at Saint Anns Cemetery, Avilton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Helens memory be made to Saint Michaels Church, 44 E. Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532. The Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
