John Munroe Lovell moved to Davidson County, Tennessee about the commencement of the 19th Century and settled, after marrying Susannah Pack in 1808, on Sam's Creek. They resided there about two years, then moved to Pond Creek and lived there until his death. According to Clayton's history; "he was a justice of the peace, a representative farmer, a member of the Methodist Church, and a good man."
His obituary, including places of birth and death, appeared in the May 17 1855 Edition of The Nashville Christian Advocate.
