I believe this to be George Clinton Johnson, son of John C. and Mary Lucretia (Taylor) Johnson, grandson of Jonathan P. and Rebecca (Cotter) Johnson. According to census records, John and Mary Lucretia Johnson had a son George C. who was b. Jan 1878. There is no record of him in censuses after 1900 and no WWI draft card. Meanwhile, we know that Rosa Belle Mason married a George C. Johnson on 22 Aug 1903 and had two Johnson sons, James Tillman and Harry W. James Tillman Johnson's death certificate lists his father as Clinton Johnson. This G.C. Johnson is buried right next to Marvin H. Swinney, who married Rosa Belle Mason Johnson (date unknown) and had a son Joseph M. Swinney with her in Oct 1914. Putting all this together leads me to believe G.C. is George Clinton Johnson, but since he had the misfortune of dying 5 days before Missouri began using death certificates, I have no proof. If anyone has anything to add please let me know. (If G.C. is George Clinton, he would be my first cousin 4 times removed.)
