Died suddenly on a Sunday afternoon while attending a family reunion at the family's former home near Moniac, after being stricken with a heart attack.

She was married to Joseph O. (Jode) Thrift on July 22, 1888 in Ware County, Ga. She was a member of a widely-known pioneer Charlton County family being the mother of Aaron L. Thrift, a former member of the Board of County Commissioners.
