Chester Sessions was the son of Perrigrine and Emorett Loveland Sessions. Chester grew up in Bountiful, going to church and school. He worked with his family on their farm, molasses mill, orchards, and and got timber out for the sawmill. Chester married Isabelle Jane Corbridge October 2, 1879, in the Endowment house in Salt Lake, Utah. They had twelve children. They were called to St. Johns, Arizona to help colonize. After returning to Utah Chester worked as a street car conductor. Later they traded their belongings for a place in Star Valley, Wyoming. Chester and Isabelle had a ranch, farm, and a dry farm. They were both very active in the LDS church and in the social life of their community. They befrended the poor and needy, widows, and orphans. Chester decided to retire from his ranch and moved to Afton, Wyoming. He is remembered by his family as a kind and fair man who also had a keen sense of humor. At the time of Chester's death he was the Mayor of Afton, Wyoming.
