Rancher's Rites Set at Melstone
Funeral services for James Kinney Holmes, 77, of Melstone, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Melstone church with the Rev. Gale Anderson officiating. Masonic funeral rites will be conducted both at the church and at the gravesite by W. F. Ording, acting master.
Mr. Holmes, a retired rancher, died at his home Thursday night.
He was born June 14, 1869, near Webster City, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Holmes and came to Melstone from Kansas 55 years ago. Mr. Holmes served as foreman of the RL ranch before taking up a homestead west of there. He was married June 30, 1926 to Miss Elizabeth Grierson.
He is survived by his widow; three brothers, Allen T. Holmes of Billings, George R. Holmes and Henry Holmes of Stafford, Kan., and a sister, Mrs. Alice Brown of Polson.
Burial will be in Rancher Cemetery near Myers.
