Beatrice Ann Candell, 67, of Eau Claire died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at home surrounded by her family and under the care of Northwest Wisconsin HomeCare.
Bea was born July 9, 1942, in Ashland to Donald and Marcella (Klingbiel) Bremmer. In her junior year of high school her family moved to Eau Claire, and she graduated from Memorial High School in 1960. Bea worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. for five years until her marriage to Michael J. Candell on Aug. 29, 1964. She spent 24 years working for St. Patrick's Parish, Eau Claire Coordinated Catholic Schools and Catholic Area Schools of the Eau Claire Deanery before retiring June 30, 2008.
Bea is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael; daughter, Lynn (Frans) Carlstrom of Osseo; son, Jeffrey of Eau Claire; daughter, Jennifer (Rodney) McCullum of Apple Valley, Minn.; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Cody Carlstrom and Chelsea and R.J. McCullum; stepmother, Ruth J. Lehman Bremmer of Eau Claire; brother, Gary (Jane) Bremmer of Sussex; brother, Jan (Mindy Bauer) Bremmer of Eau Claire. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Kathleen Candell; brothers-in-law Steve (Linda), Pat (Linda), Bill, Gerry (Pat), Tim (Beth) and Mark (Patty) Candell; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Lecher, Jeanne (Gary Wendt) Candell, Peg Bremmer, Pat Candell, Jeneen Candell, Lynda Bremmer; many nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; her father-in-law, William Candell; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Candell.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at St. Patrick's Parish, Eau Claire, with the Rev. William A. Dhein officiating. Private burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Visitation will continue one hour before services Friday at the church.
