A skillful leader, Br. Alphonse directed several local communities. Every school he administered, especially St. Aloysius in New Orleans, prospered under his direction, even during difficult times. A proven administrator, Br. Alphonse was founder of the Brothers' first school in New England at Manchester, NH, in 1889. In 1900 this school and others in New England went to the newly created Canadian Province. Br. Alphonse returned South at that time.
Small in stature, Br. Alphonse had a big heart and tremendous talent. He was a man of great energy and devotion who loved to see his brothers enjoy themselves. His obedience was exemplary. (Annuaire 23:179)
