Wilma Ellen Odom, 101, of Hallsville, Mo., formerly of Eldridge, died Thursday evening, April 19, 2012, in her home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1910, near Oakland, Mo., to James Milan and Martha L. Thomas Massey.
On Dec. 12, 1928, she married Paul Rook Odom.
She worked as a devoted homemaker for her husband and family. She made her profession of faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Zion Baptist Church during her younger years. She was a longtime member of the Second Baptist Church in Lebanon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, on April 11, 1988; a daughter, Lelia Mae Ruble; six brothers, Louis Preston, Jessie James, Charles Elmer, Hubert Ray, Virgil Merle and an infant; six sisters, Artie Leona, Mary Frances, Essie Ethel, Iva Alice, Juverna Chloe and Grace Pauline; and two grandsons, Jeffrey Grant and Donald Paul.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ruth Agan, of Lebanon; two sons, James Thomas Odom and his wife, Marcia, of Hallsville, and John Robert Odom and his wife, Pat, of Richland; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Wilma Ellen Odom will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Hufft Cemetery near Eldridge.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Whitson Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
